David was dedicated to his faith and community throughout his life, attending Greater Life Church’s Locust Campus where he lived out his beliefs in action by performing roles at NarroWay Productions where he played multiple memorable parts. David even extended his service abroad by participating in 27 years of short-term missionary work with Linda in Romania – evidence of both his faith and desire to make tangible differences in our world.

David held great love and respect for his family, dedicating 32 years of marriage to Linda Hartsell while being an attentive father and patriarch figure to Casey Captain, Andy Whittle and Chris Whittle, six grandchildren and one great-grandson. David will continue to influence and guide them for generations to come through his legacy as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Professionally, David was employed at Hyatt Landscaping for 22 years, where his mechanical talent shone brightly. Operating any piece of equipment was an indicator of not only his technical savvy but also of his willingness to meet challenges head-on – demonstrating versatility and adaptability beyond professional life and showing that any task was possible for David to achieve.
Outdoor Enthusiast
David enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping. An avid camper, nature provided him with solace and inspiration – something he shared with his family by teaching them how to appreciate its beauty and tranquillity.

As preparations for David’s celebration of life at Greater Life Church near his birthplace of Toronto take place, his legacy stands as an exemplar of love, service, and faith.
