Thanks to all the owners who put up the lights and pay for the electricity bill. Looking at lights is one of our favorite parts of the Christmas season.
| Big thank you to Rachel Rentschler, Realtor with Lincoln First Realty for sponsoring this with us! Rachel has been in the real estate industry for almost 15 years, with the last nearly 5 years as a licensed REALTOR®. Her specialty is working one-on-one with her clients and their family to find the best fit for their needs in both buying a new home and selling their current home. She can help you buy or sell a home in Lincoln, Omaha, and surrounding market areas. A few warnings before hiring her as your REALTOR®, she over-communicates, she is easily distracted by kids and pets and if you are a client of hers, you now have a new life-long friend! |
If you do the entire drive in one night it will take about 2.5-3.5 hours. We split ours up and did the two big lights shows in one night and all of the Lincoln houses another night so that it was more than 1.5 hours and 2 hours. You'll notice that our maps takes you down extra streets-there are a couple of neighborhoods that do great displays and are worth driving through.
7300 Carson Road
This is hands down my favorite house! It is a Griswold scene-complete with Clark quotes. My husband and I adored this house! They are collecting winter clothing for the People's City Mission.
6800 Marcus Road
So bright and so much happening! This house makes me smile.
6234 Franciscan Dr
My children referred to this house as the gingerbread house. They adored seeing all of the Charlie Brown cut-outs throughout the yard. This show also has a Santa in one of the windows and he is putting away presents, we love this surprise!
5810 S 88th
This house is decked out in "The Nightmare Before Christmas" decorations! This house is so much fun to look at, there are lots of details and there is music playing along.
4341 Duxhall Dr
Minions! That is what I heard as we drove by this house.
S 30th St & Prescott Ave
Dozens of candy canes lining the road. Our new tradition is to listen to Cia singing "Candy Cane Lane" while you go down the street.
3421 Allendale Dr
This home is fun in the front and the back! From Hwy 2, you can see a two story Santa Claus.
2525 Marilynn Ave
My kids loved this house! It has so many hidden gems-from a moving snowglobe to animals to bright changing lights. Next door to this house is another wonderfully decorated home with their own station. This small block does a great job.
Sheridan Blvd & Woodscrest Ave
When I see this house I think of classic, Christmas movies. Continue down Woodscrest to see the house with the "the dolphins" and other beautiful lights.
2220 Woodsdale Blvd
This home has a stunning nativity scene (the baby Jesus isn't added until Christmas Eve). This is one of those streets where the whole street is great to drive down. Every house is stunning as you drive down this road.
Stratford Ave & S 27th St
This street is for kids and adults alike. Here you will find beautiful, elegant, stately displays with white, twinkling lights and the famours 9 foot Elf on the Shelf. It is a great place to park and walk down, especially on Christmas Eve when thousands (yes, thousands) of luminaries are put out. After leaving Stratford, turn right onto Rathbone and left onto Sheridan. There are great houses for quite a flew blocks!
707 Indian Hills Dr
This house is so amazing! A lot of the decorations are hand-made which makes it even more incredible. I've only seen it from the back (while driving on 84th St), not the front but I've been told that the front is done up too.
N 112th St & US-34
The big light show on 112th never gets old. The owners outdo themselves each year. If you can, I'd recommend going on a weeknight. The weekends are really crowded (they deserve the crowds, though!) Access this display through A Street and you will have a much shorter line. You won’t be on the “good” side of the road but you’ll wait wayyyyy less. My kids adore this house-thank you to the owners!
1101 N 97th St
Kudos to 98th St and 97th St! There are a number of houses that are lit up and it was hard to find just one to put here but this one won out. You should absolutely spend time driving on this block.
2430 Dorothy Dr
If my kids could pick a house, this might be it. There is so much going on here that you have to stay and just look for 5 minutes to take it all in! The surrounding streets have great decorations too.
